Add Products to the Product Finder

Last updated January 3, 2023

First off, we recommend defining your Routine Results here. Based on your inventory you might want a 4-Step Routine like “Cleanse – Moisturize – Treat – Pamper” or for a Foundation Finder something like “Primer – Foundation – Concealer – Highlighter”.

Based on the decision around the Groups and routine results you can define your inventory within these categories.

As a Retailer:

  1. Export your inventory from your system into an Excel or Google Sheet. Make sure that you have included the EAN/UPC, Brand Name, Product Name, Product Variant, and if possible Price and Product Shopping and Image URLs.

  2. Send your Excel to questions@skin-match.com. Our team will make sure that all the products are in our database for optimal matching in the product finder. Depending on the number of products this can take 1 week or longer.

  3. Once you have received the green light from our team, you can proceed with the step: Product Preview Settings

As a Beauty Brand:

With the given login credentials you can access your account at Skin Match Technology by logging in at getskinmatch.com.

  1. Click on Products. Start with adding products from your inventory to our database or double-check that you have all the products that you would like to see in the Quiz with status approved in the Database.

  2. Click on Administration > Edit Questionnaire > Products to define your routine result.
If you have not done this step yet, read more about setting up your Routine Result here.

  3. Continue with Adding Products to your Product Finder by clicking on a Group and then clicking on the round button with the + Symbol in the right lower corner.

  4. Add all the details for the new product by starting with the EAN in the first field (If the EAN is missing, the product will not be saved). Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.

Once you have successfully added a product, it should look something like this:

  • If the Image is not showing, check if the Image URL is correct.

  • If the product title is not showing, check if you have added the content to all the languages. If yes, go to Settings > Languages and make sure that Default Language is the same as one of your preview language selections. Otherwise, it will display English US as default and if you have not selected English US no content will be displayed even if the other languages have been filled in correctly.

  • If the product is added but not showing in the recommendations, as a Brand go to getskinmatch.com > Products and check if the product status is approved. If not contact your project manager or questions@skin-match.com - as a Retailer do the same.
